See What’s New at Buffalo Mountain

See What’s New at Buffalo Mountain

Buffalo Mountain has been going through a lot of growing pains. It feels good to grow, and we have all of you to thank for that. We were in flux for a number of years prior to purchasing our land here in Glenwood, so we didn’t do a whole lot to bring new products or offerings into our online shops. We were focused mainly on finding land and once we were settled, then turn our attention to expanding our company.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever tried to run a business when you were in the process of moving inventory and having things all packed up in boxes, but that was our situation six months ago.

Since June 2019, we have been working on new offerings, roasting new and amazing coffee, and getting to know our community a little better.

Here is a little bit of what’s new and available for sale in our Etsy Shop. I will add them to our online store as well soon. We chose Etsy when we first started our company because our products are all handcrafted. From the coffee itself to the packaging and gifts, we care about the smallest details and meticulously seek to provide the very best service to all our customers and corporate clients.

Let’s start with our Best Sellers:

Our Coffee Sampler Pack contains one 12oz Coffee of your choice and three samples of our signature coffee roasts. Looking for a gift for the coffee lover in your life? Look no further! The Coffee Sampler Pack comes in its own box and a special gift note can be added.

Our Signature Six is another Best Seller on Etsy. It contains six of our signature roasts in 2oz sample bags. This sampler too can be transformed into a themed gift. To purchase, click here.

Another gift set that sold out almost immediately were our 12oz coffee and ornament sets. As soon as I posted them they were sold. We will be offering a LOT more for the 2020 Holiday Season!

Our newest offering is our Coffee of the Month Club. Whether you’re looking for a gift for the coffee lover in your life or for yourself, our Coffee of the Month Club will bring a smile to you every morning and soothe the soul as only our fresh roasted coffee can do.

You have the option of choosing one pound per month or more. If you would like two pounds per month, order two subscriptions and so on. For example, if you use 4 pounds of coffee per month, choose 4 subscriptions.

Your coffee will ship once per month (no matter how many pounds you order) for the allotted time you have chosen.

In the drop-down, you can choose if you want your coffee whole bean or ground, dark, medium, or assorted, and the amount of time you want your subscription to go.

Now that we’re settled and no longer have to move, we are turning our attention to building our new wood-fired hearth coffee roaster. It has been something that we’ve talked about even before starting Buffalo Mountain. We also have a dear friend and owner of Geobarns coming next week to discuss the building of our main facility. We’ll be talking about our vision for Buffalo Mountain as we scale up production.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and we’re excited to share our latest Sampler Packs with everyone.

If you would like to stay in the loop with new products, consider joining our mailing list! It’s free to subscribe and your information is not shared with anyone…click here to join.

Building Our New Wood-Fired Coffee Roasting Hearth

This has been a dream of mine for about three years now. When we originally moved to Maine (a very long and traumatic story!) I wanted to create a coffee business using a homemade wood-fired coffee hearth. It was supposed to be for value-added products at the farm we were supposed to take over, but that plan went out the door when we left Maine.

As fate would have it, when we moved to Green Bank, WV, and I started roasting coffee for my husband Dominic, all the original plans I had for building a wood-fired roasting hearth came rushing back to the forefront of my mind. We thought that Green Bank would be the place we put down roots, but my health started declining in October 2017 due to my severe mold allergies, and we were once again forced to make some difficult decisions about where to live. New Mexico is our home state and the place where I can recover from biotoxin illness, so we came back.

We could have returned to our hometown of Los Lunas, NM, but because New Mexico is such a large and diverse state, we began to look at areas that would be more secluded and rural. We love living in small communities, especially if it’s in the middle of a forest of some kind. As I looked at all the different counties in NM, Catron County stuck out to us for many personal reasons. We began putting out feelers and researching if we could be a good fit for Catron County, and all roads seemed to lead there. We made new connections, forged new friendships, and started partnering with local businesses prior to us moving to Reserve. (more…)
